Our story begins in April 2002, Blue Sky Energy Corporation, under its President, Jack Boyle got the go ahead to build the landfill gas recovery project in Weber County Utah. The plant has been built and is now producing power for the Utah electricity grid, displacing dirty coal-fired power generation. Previously Jack proposed to build methane powered landfill gas electricitiy generation plants in BC, one at the Hartland Landfill and one at the Vancouver Landfill. Both proposals made the short-list, but were ultimately unsuccessful.

Jack persevered for 4 years in spearheading the project and the plant is now up and running and displacing dirtier coal-fired electricity generation in Utah. The project, will produce over 650,000 tonnes of CO2 offsets over its lifetime.

Fast forward: The seed of the idea to sell the offsets directly to concerned individuals, businesses to counteract the emissions from driving and travel has its roots in the past, but with the Cooler Skies Company, it’s our future. Jack is back.

As the President, Jack is the driving force behind the company. His vision is to help take alternative energy mainstream.

We all contribute to global warming. When we use electricity generated from coal or drive our cars which burn gasoline or fly in an airplane powered by jet fuel.
